The Children’s Services Council of Broward County invites qualified vendors to submit proposals for the Legal Supports 2025 RFP. The intent of the RFP is to provide legal representation and advocacy to youth in the dependency or delinquency systems and to youth who are dually involved in both systems. This program shall also include a legal helpline for families to call an experienced attorney for legal information and assistance with questions involving juvenile delinquency, diversion, civil citation, and/or dependency.

The Agency Financial Viability section is due on March 17, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. This procurement will be available until March 31, 2025, through CSC’s web-based Contract Administration and Procurement System (CAPS), and responses must be submitted through CAPS.

We Need You at Real Men Read 2025!

We are excited to announce that Real Men Read 2025 will take place on April 4, 2025, at six (6) Elementary Schools.

«Real Men Read» invites male positive literacy role models from the Broward Community to read books, distribute books, and share stories of reading in their everyday lives.

The purpose of the REAL MEN READ program is to:

  • Encourage and improve the literacy skills of our students
  • How students that real men value education
  • Provide mentoring opportunities for students
  • Demonstrate the importance of community partnerships

Our mentors engage students from Pre-K to 5th grade by reading aloud sparking discussion, and distributing books.

  1. Deerfield Park Elementary – 650 SW 3rd Ave, Deerfield Beach, FL 33441

Protecting OUR Children campaign is an awareness campaign that uses the full spectrum of media to ensure that Broward County families, educators, media, law enforcement, and all stakeholders use and share resources that make it possible for children to safely realize their full potential, hopes, and dreams. The Broward AWARE campaign is inspired by the work of the Ounce of Prevention Fund of Florida and Prevent Child Abuse/Pinwheels for Prevention Florida. Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor Scholarship

Lifeguard Prerequisites:

  • Minimum age: 15 years
  • Continuously swim 150 yards
  • Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs
  • Continuously swim for an additional 50 yards
  • Complete a timed event in the water within 1 minute 40 seconds
  • Swim 20 yards and surface dive to a depth of 7 to 12 feet and retrieve a 10-pound object and return it to the surface
  • Swim 20 yards on your back and return to the starting point
  • Place the object on the side of the pool and then exit the water without using steps or a ladder
Water Safety Instructor Prerequisites:

  • Minimum age: 15 years
  • Swim at Level 4 ability or higher
  • Be able to swim all strokes outlined below:
  • Front Crawl- 25 yards
  • Back Crawl- 25 yards
  • Breaststroke- 25 yards
  • Elementary Backstroke- 25 yards
  • Sidestroke- 25 yards
  • Butterfly- 15 yards
  • Maintain position on back for 1 minute in deep water (floating or sculling)
  • Tread water for 1 minute
