The Children’s Services Council of Broward County (CSC) is seeking to establish a Capacity-Building Network of trainers and consultants. This network will consist of trainers and consultants who are mindful of and responsive to the various backgrounds and needs of organizations that serve families and support children in Broward County. Interested applicants may apply for one or both of the following procurements: Trainer Cadre (New or Returning trainers) and Program Performance Consultant (one application for New and Returning consultants).

2025 LEGISLATIVE SESSION: WEEK 4

Senate Appropriations Chair, Senator Ed Hooper (R-Palm Harbor) and House Budget Chair, Representative Lawrence McClure (R-Plant City)

Welcome to Capitol Connection week 4. This week, the legislature continued introducing new bills as substantive committees meet. Additionally, both chambers began rolling out their budget proposals, with the Senate introducing SB 2500 Appropriations and the House introducing PCB BUC25-01 General Appropriations Act. These initial spending plans come in at $117 billion in the Seante and $112.95 billion in the House a difference of $4.4 billion.

On Monday, March 24, the Senate Appropriations Committee on Prek-12 Education took up SB 1618 Prekindergarten Through Grade 12 Education by Senator Alexis Calatayud (R-Miami), which passed its second committee stop. The Senate Appropriations Committee on Criminal and Civil Justice heard SB 1286  Harming or Neglecting Children by Senator Erin Grall (R- Fort Pierce), which also passed its second committee stop.

Protecting OUR Children campaign is an awareness campaign that uses the full spectrum of media to ensure that Broward County families, educators, media, law enforcement, and all stakeholders use and share resources that make it possible for children to safely realize their full potential, hopes, and dreams. The Broward AWARE campaign is inspired by the work of the Ounce of Prevention Fund of Florida and Prevent Child Abuse/Pinwheels for Prevention Florida. Below, please find activities hosted by local partners to ensure overall knowledge of different subjects.

The CSC's mission is to provide leadership, advocacy, and resources necessary to enhance the lives of the children of Broward County and empower them to become responsible, productive adults through collaborative planning and funding of a continuum of quality care.
