The “Latino Americans: 500 Years of History” program series encourages Broward County residents to learn about and celebrate the history, traditions and cultural contributions of Latino Americans in meaningful and engaging ways, such as scholar-led discussions and traditional dance presentations, ultimately fostering greater cultural awareness, understanding and connectivity among residents.

Newsweek Magazine recently released two lists – America’s Top High Schools 2015 – which ranks schools solely based on performance and, in an effort to address the effect of socioeconomic disadvantage on education, Beating the Odds 2015, which takes student poverty into account when ranking schools.
