CSC Supports Surfside
The Children’s Services Council of Broward County (CSC) family wishes to express our deepest sympathies to everyone affected by the tragic building collapse in Surfside. In times like these, it is important to remember that there are resources available to help manage the inevitable grief and trauma resulting.
Please visit our website www.CSCBroward.org to connect with a number of CSC-funded agencies that provide mental and behavioral wellbeing supports. For more information, you can also visit 2-1-1 Broward. For those who want to make a financial contribution to the affected families or wish to volunteer, visit United Way and their Operation Helping Hand page.

BLAST BREAK!
The CSC Weekly Blast will be taking a short summer hiatus until July 19th. We wish everyone a Happy and Safe Fourth of July weekend and we look forward to highlighting more great information for children and families when we return.
The CSC is expecting to budget approximately $2,000,000 in FY 21/22 for the Healing and Empowering All Living with Trauma (HEAL Trauma) RFP. The intent of the HEAL Trauma RFP is to address the negative impacts of trauma and provide resources to allow those impacted to increase protective factors and build resiliency.
The procurement is available through CSC’s web-based Contract Administration and Procurement System (CAPS) and responses to this procurement must be submitted through CAPS. Interested parties must access the RFP from the CSC website http://www.cscbroward.org. Training on the use of CAPS will take place during the Virtual Pre-Bid Conference.
A virtual Pre-Bid Conference will be held on June 22, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. via Zoom. This will be the only opportunity to receive verbal instructions regarding the RFP.

COVID-19 AND YOUR MENTAL HEALTH
While we are familiar with viruses like the common cold and the flu, the coronavirus (COVID-19) is relatively new and presents a situation that none of us could have imagined a year or two ago.
The fact that it is extremely contagious has resulted in business closures, social distancing, and quarantine measures which have disrupted our daily lives.
It is more important now than ever to pay attention to mental health during this time of isolation and uncertainty.
