We Need You at Real Men Read 2025!

We are excited to announce that Real Men Read 2025 will take place on April 4, 2025, at six (6) Elementary Schools.

«Real Men Read» invites male positive literacy role models from the Broward Community to read books, distribute books, and share stories of reading in their everyday lives.

The purpose of the REAL MEN READ program is to:

  • Encourage and improve the literacy skills of our students
  • How students that real men value education
  • Provide mentoring opportunities for students
  • Demonstrate the importance of community partnerships

Our mentors engage students from Pre-K to 5th grade by reading aloud sparking discussion, and distributing books.

Please find below the schools that still need Real Men guest readers:

  1. Deerfield Park Elementary – 650 SW 3rd Ave, Deerfield Beach, FL 33441
  2. Dillard Elementary – 2330 NW 12th Ct, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311
  3. Hollywood Central Elementary -1700 Monroe St, Hollywood, FL 33020
  4. Park Ridge Elementary – 5200 NE 9th Ave, Pompano Beach, FL 33064
  5. Pinewood Elementary – 1600 SW 83rd Ave, North Lauderdale, FL 33068
  6. Village Elementary – 2100 NW 70th Ave, Sunrise, FL 33313

BROWARD AWARE! COMMUNITY HIGHLIGHTS

The Broward AWARE! Protecting OUR Children campaign is an awareness campaign that uses the full spectrum of media to ensure that Broward County families, educators, media, law enforcement, and all stakeholders use and share resources that make it possible for children to safely realize their full potential, hopes, and dreams. The Broward AWARE campaign is inspired by the work of the Ounce of Prevention Fund of Florida and Prevent Child Abuse/Pinwheels for Prevention Florida. Below, please find activities hosted by local partners to ensure overall knowledge of different subjects.
