The City of Miramar is providing residents with updates and pertinent information on Hurricane Irma recovery efforts. The City is grateful for the resiliency, patience, and cooperation of our residents.

- The City of Miramar has reached out to FEMA and Florida Governor Rick Scott to request subcontractors to expedite the debris collection process.
- The City’s waste collection contract is for REGULAR WASTE collection services only– hurricane debris is contracted and paid separately.
- The City resumed REGULAR WASTE pick-up immediately following Hurricane Irma.
- Regularly scheduled RECYCLING collection resumed Monday, September 25th. Please place your Recycling bin (blue) curbside on your normal Recycling collection day. There may be delays; however, crews are working extended hours and may pick-up the following day.
- REGULAR BULK collection services will resume in the near future. Once reinstated, please separate normal bulk items (e.g. appliances, furniture) from vegetative debris. (See video above for assistance).
- Residents are encouraged to please give WASTE COLLECTION VEHICLES ample road space to reduce risks and increase the efficiency of the debris removal.
- The City of Miramar is not authorized to collect debris in all Private and Gated Communities, but is working closely with HOAs to coordinate debris collection.
- Hurricane Irma STORM DEBRIS COLLECTION (vegetative only: plants, branches, trees) pick-up has been completed in Zones 1, 3, 4 and 9.
- Hurricane Irma STORM DEBRIS COLLECTION (vegetative only: plants, branches, trees) pick-up has begun in Zones 2, 5, 6, and 7. Please stay connected with us as we will post updates on upcoming zones moving forward. Note, this is the first of two collections. Residents should not PANIC or RUSH to place debris curbside.
